Solid hardwood is a single piece of wood and can be refinished multiple times, while engineered hardwood has a real wood veneer over plywood layers, making it more moisture-resistant.

Hardwood can be used in kitchens with care, but it’s not ideal for bathrooms due to moisture. Engineered hardwood is a better choice for moisture-prone areas.
